Protection Routine from Avra

Protection Routine 12/2022

Start your New Year with double protection!

Here are two acupressure points located on your forearm that may be helpful for protection. According to Classical Chinese Medicine, these acupressure points are part of your Protective or Defense energy system, called Wei Chi.

Triple Warmer 5 is also known as the Outer Frontier Gate. It is traditionally used for colds, flus, and headaches. It is used to boost your immune system. This acu-point is located 3 fingers’ width above the outer wrist crease, between the two bones of the forearm. (You can look for a picture location of Triple Warmer 5 on the internet).

Pericardium 6 is also called the Inner Frontier Gate. It is located 3 fingers’ widths above your inner your wrist crease, in between the two bones and tendons of your forearm. (You can look for a picture location of Pericardium 6 on the internet). This acu-point is used for anxiety. It helps to calm the mind and spirit. Also used for nausea and dizziness.

Try this short defense energy enhancing routine combining breath, gentle movement, and the two acupressure points:

  • Begin either sitting or standing, place your palms over your lower belly. Center yourself by taking slow, long, deep, breaths.
  • Now cross your arms in front of your chest, so that your acupressure points Triple Warmer 5 and Pericardium 6 touch each other. As you inhale slowly raise your arms overhead, as you exhale open your arms out to the sides. Then circle back around to your heart center (middle of your chest). Switch arms so the other one is on top. Repeat this movement 3 to 6 times or more.
  • Then place one palm on the center of your chest (sternum).
  • Using the thumb and fingers of the other hand touch Triple Warmer 5 and Pericardium 6 on either side of the forearm.
  • Breathe slowly and deeply, knowing that you are connecting with your Wei Chi defense energy system.
  • You may want to visualize a white light clearing unwanted energy and bringing in protecting energy.
  • Next, switch arms and touch the Triple Warmer 5 and Pericardium 6 acupressure points on the other forearm.
  • When you feel ready, bring your palms back to your lower abdomen and take several more slow, deep breath. Feel and sense that your immune system and your emotions have been strengthened.
  • Smile, you are now ready to go on with your day.
